Opal is uniquely beautiful. You can spot it right away simply by its vibrant coloring. According to Arabic legend, the stone fell from the sky in bolts of lightning. On the other hand, according to Greek Mythology, opals are the happy tears shed by Zeus after defeating the Titans. Australian Aborigines have a legend that the Creator came down from the heavens on a rainbow. Everywhere his feet touched, colorful opal was left behind.
